About the role
The Station Construction Manager leads the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of station construction works for the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension project. This senior role oversees all phases of station construction within a complex design‑build / P3 environment, ensuring alignment with project schedules, safety standards, and operational readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage all station construction activities from mobilization through substantial completion and handover.
- Oversee day‑to‑day field operations, ensuring work is executed safely and according to approved drawings, specifications, and methodologies.
- Coordinate construction sequencing with adjacent guideway, tunnel, utilities, systems, and roadway works.
- Monitor productivity, schedule performance, and construction milestones across multiple work fronts.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with TRP safety policies, regulatory requirements, and site‑specific safety plans.
- Ensure construction complies with building codes, accessibility standards, transit authority requirements, and project specifications.
- Oversee QA/QC inspections, testing, deficiency management, and close‑out activities.
- Collaborate with design and technical teams to address constructability issues and maintain alignment with design intent.
- Review and support approval of shop drawings, RFIs, method statements, work plans, and technical submittals.
- Act as the primary construction interface for station works, coordinating with subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, municipalities, utility providers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting on progress, safety, and schedule performance.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading station or large‑scale rail transit construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and accessibility standards applicable to transit infrastructure.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder interfaces.
- Experience in design‑build or public‑private partnership environments.
