Sonic Driller/Drillers in Training

About the role

Mud Bay Drilling is seeking motivated individuals to operate and maintain sonic drilling equipment in a variety of field environments. This position offers hands‑on training for geotechnical drillers and a pathway toward a lead driller role.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate sonic drilling rigs, sampling systems and geophysical instruments following company procedures.
• Assist engineers and technicians with field tasks and data collection.
• Support mobilization and demobilization of equipment in hard‑to‑access sites.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep equipment running at optimal performance.
• Adhere to Mud Bay Drilling’s safety culture, follow SOPs and report any incidents promptly.
• Communicate equipment issues and field observations to supervisors or project managers.
• Identify and suggest improvements to operating procedures.

Required profile

• Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a strong safety mindset.
• Interest in developing skills on sonic drilling technology.
• Suitable for current geotechnical drillers or trainees aiming to become lead drillers.
