Solids Control Field Technician (Remote, Canada)

About the role

Stage 3 is seeking a Solids Control Field Technician to support drilling operations across Canada. You will receive on‑the‑job training on a range of specialized solids control equipment and work 12‑hour rotational shifts (14 days on, 7 days off) at remote project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Rig up and rig down solids control equipment such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units and pumps.
• Operate and monitor drilling fluid properties, perform fluid analysis (weight, viscosity, retort analysis) and execute solids control services (air drilling, barite recovery, de‑watering, etc.).
• Conduct routine mechanical and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery safely under supervision.
• Maintain a clean work environment using pressure‑washing equipment.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and complete required PJRA/JSA, inspection and observation reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts on a 14‑day on/7‑day off rotation.
• Ability to travel domestically to remote locations throughout Canada.
• Safety‑sensitive mindset and commitment to PPE and safety protocols.
• Basic understanding of electrical principles and environmental services is a plus.

Required skills

• Operation of shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying equipment and pumps.
• Heavy machinery operation.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Fluid analysis (weight, viscosity, retort analysis).
• Execution of solids control processes such as air drilling, barite recovery and de‑watering.
