Software Product Owner

About the role

Reliable Controls is seeking a Software Product Owner to translate customer and stakeholder needs into clear development plans for its building‑automation software. You will work closely with development, UI/UX and architecture teams to shape solutions that support the company’s Net‑Zero emissions vision.

Key responsibilities

• Define product positioning, value proposition and messaging.
• Gather, clarify and prioritize requirements, managing work through JIRA.
• Lead Agile Scrum activities, including backlog refinement, sprint planning and reviews.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, prioritize and deliver features.
• Plan and execute product launches and drive adoption.
• Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.

Required profile

• 3+ years as a Product Manager, Product Owner or similar role.
• 2+ years of software development experience and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Post‑secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management or related field.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• JIRA for backlog and work management.
• Agile Scrum methodology.
• PMP certification (considered an asset).
