Software Engineer (Python/React) – Up to $200k CAD + Bonus

About the role

A leading FinTech firm in Montreal is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join its technology team. The role involves building high‑performance applications in a fast‑paced trading environment across multiple asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high‑performance applications.
• Build robust backend systems using Python and modern frontend interfaces using React.
• Work on high‑throughput ETL pipelines processing billions of data points per second.
• Develop software solutions with scale, reliability and low‑latency considerations.
• Participate in R&D for functional programming languages such as Rust, Erlang, or OCaml‑like languages.
• Contribute to machine‑learning infrastructure and search models.
• Implement quant logic and research models for alpha generation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including traders and quants.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience in Python and/or React.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
