Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to develop and enhance our custom Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that drives production efficiency at our Port Perry facility. You will work closely with engineering, quality, and IT teams to deliver reliable, data‑driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and database‑driven applications using Python, Django, SQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Create responsive user interfaces for shop‑floor operators and managers with ReactJS and JavaScript.
• Integrate MES with business systems, equipment interfaces, and real‑time protocols such as MQTT.
• Build dashboards, reports, and monitoring tools using Grafana and InfluxDB.
• Support database design, data modeling, query optimization, and time‑series data management.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate across manufacturing, quality, engineering, and IT to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, deployment, and continuous improvement of development practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
