Software Engineer – Azure Data Platform

About the role

Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is building the data platform for the age of AI. As a Software Engineer on the Core platform team, you will help design and implement the high‑throughput, multi‑tenant services that power Microsoft Fabric.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑quality components in C# and Java, writing clean, well‑tested code.
• Integrate a range of Azure services (Service Fabric, ContainerD, Storage, Service Bus, Event Hub, Event Grid, Kusto, SQL Azure, Cosmos DB, Redis) to achieve scalability and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and partner teams to define, build, and refine features.
• Review and contribute to specifications and implementations created by other engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience developing middle‑tier or backend services for high‑throughput, multi‑tenant environments.
