Software Development Engineer

About the role

Wagepoint is looking for a motivated Software Development Engineer to join its engineering team. You will work on payroll and HR technology, building and maintaining features across the full stack while growing your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and ship end‑to‑end features from code to production.
• Identify and resolve bugs and technical debt, keeping the codebase clean and maintainable.
• Participate actively in code reviews, sharing knowledge and improving overall code quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teammates to unblock work and deliver high‑impact solutions.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, code review and innovation.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with full‑stack development and a strong interest in payroll/HR systems.
• Ability to apply SOLID, DRY and KISS principles and communicate progress and blockers effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more modern languages such as C#, JavaScript or Python.
• Familiarity with front‑end frameworks like React or Angular.
• Experience building and consuming back‑end APIs (REST).
