Small Engine Mechanic

About the role

Hall Constructors is seeking a dedicated Small Engine Mechanic to join its equipment division. You will ensure the optimal performance, safety, and reliability of a variety of small engines and light construction equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines such as chainsaws, brush cutters, pumps, and generators.
• Service diesel‑powered plate packers and other light construction equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter and spark plug replacements, and belt adjustments.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records using a computer system.
• Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
• Communicate clearly with team members and follow all safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience repairing small engines.
• Hands‑on experience with diesel engines, especially plate compactors/packers.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for service logging.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
