Shift Operator

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Shift Operator to join our Facilities Management & Operations team in North Bay, Ontario. The role supports uninterrupted tenant services and maintains asset integrity through hands‑on operation and monitoring of building systems.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day operations and monitoring programs to ensure continuous building performance.
• Maintain comfort levels using the computerized Building Automation System (BAS) or manual controls.
• Monitor BAS alarms, troubleshoot equipment issues, and determine root causes.
• Perform shift tours, log equipment status, temperatures, pressures, and utilities.
• Conduct weekly generator inspections and run‑ups.
• Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on building equipment.
• Receive tenant service requests, address those within expertise, and dispatch others, including after‑hours calls.

Required profile

• High school diploma; certifications in Building Environmental Systems, Power Engineering, or related trades are assets.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in building operations or similar environment.
• Strong safety mindset, reliability, and accountability.
• Effective oral and written communication in English.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
