Sheet Metal Estimator

About the role

We are looking for a Sheet Metal Estimator to join our Scarborough‑based fabrication team. Reporting to the Division Manager, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical sheet‑metal projects and supporting our growth in the utilities construction sector.

Key responsibilities

• Perform take‑offs from construction drawings and develop detailed cost estimates.
• Establish labour and material costs for mechanical sheet‑metal projects.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date list of suppliers and ensure pricing aligns with industry standards.
• Identify the most competitive rates and evaluate proposal specifications to define scope of work.
• Verify the accuracy of all estimates before submission.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Estimating, HVAC Systems or a related skilled‑trade certificate.
• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating mechanical sheet‑metal projects.

Required skills

• Advanced blueprint reading and sheet‑metal design interpretation.
• Strong knowledge of industry materials, costs and supplier management.
• Proficiency with MS Office and estimating software such as Autobid SM, Procore, CamDuct or Est/MEP.
