Service Technician

About the role

LineStar Utility Supply Inc. is seeking a Service Technician for its high‑voltage laboratory in Mississauga. The role combines shipping and receiving duties with hands‑on testing, repair and maintenance of protective live‑line equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Answer shipping phone calls and emails; process all customer and company orders.
• Receive, inspect and log gloves and other inventory daily.
• Ship customer and internal orders efficiently.
• Repair, recondition and electrically test protective live‑line equipment.
• Conduct aerial device (boom‑truck) testing in the field and document results.
• Assemble and test temporary protective ground cables.
• Perform visual inspection and electrical testing of gloves, cover‑ups and blankets.
• Maintain procedure and training manuals.
• Supervise service technicians, laborers and the shipping/receiving team.
• Coach, train and develop employees, ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; secondary education in electrical is a plus.
• Leadership experience or training.
• Class 5 Driver’s License (non‑GLD).
• Successful criminal background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and move items up to 25 lb.

Required skills

• Electrical testing of protective live‑line equipment.
• Aerial device (boom‑truck) field testing.
• Repair and reconditioning of high‑voltage protective equipment.
• Assembly and testing of temporary protective ground cables.
• Visual inspection and testing of gloves, cover‑ups and blankets.
