Service Desk Technician – IT Support for VFX Studio

About the role

The Service Desk Technician provides first‑line technical support to VFX artists and production teams at Rodeo FX. Working on‑site in the Montreal studio, you will ensure that workstations, software, and network resources remain stable and performant, enabling creative teams to meet tight production deadlines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Level 1‑2 support for workstations, network, peripherals, and software licensing.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software incidents quickly to minimise production impact.
• Document tickets in the ITSM system, track SLAs and escalate when necessary.
• Prepare, configure and deploy Windows, Linux and macOS workstations for artists and technical departments.
• Install specialised VFX software and verify pipeline compatibility.
• Maintain hardware inventory, including high‑performance GPUs and other peripherals.
• Assist IT technicians at other Rodeo FX locations and support infrastructure projects.
• Train users on best practices for tools and internal procedures.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of technical requirements in VFX environments.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under production pressure.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site five days a week to provide rapid intervention.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows, Linux and macOS operating systems.
• Hardware troubleshooting and repair, including GPUs.
• Experience with software licensing management.
• Familiarity with ITSM ticketing systems.
• Workstation deployment and configuration.
