Service Assistant

About the role

Palmer Johnson is seeking an entry‑level Service Assistant to support its service department in Burnaby. The role combines hands‑on shop work, inventory handling, and basic mechanical tasks, providing a solid foundation for a career in heavy‑duty equipment service.

Key responsibilities

• Assist technicians with shop repairs and daily service operations.
• Clean, prepare, paint, test, and stage components and equipment for repair or shipment.
• Receive, organize parts and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Pick, pack, and load outgoing shipments; operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment safely.
• Load and unload customer equipment and freight; perform local pickups and deliveries as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and warehouse environment.

Required profile

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong work ethic with teamwork orientation.
• Good organizational and communication abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Forklift operation.
• Basic computer skills.
