About the role

The SEO Account Manager will be the primary point of contact for priority clients, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality SEO services that align with business objectives. This role sits within WPP Media’s AI‑driven media operating unit, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive growth through search visibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Own day‑to‑day SEO account management for priority clients, serving as the primary contact and ensuring consistent, high‑quality delivery.
  • Lead client communication and governance, running weekly/monthly status calls, documenting decisions, and proactively managing expectations, risks, and timelines.
  • Translate business goals into SEO roadmaps aligned to measurable KPIs and clearly define success criteria.
  • Coordinate with client content, development and brand teams to drive implementation of recommendations and remove blockers.
  • Conduct keyword and market research, including intent segmentation, topic mapping, opportunity sizing and content strategy recommendations.
  • Oversee technical SEO audits for complex sites covering crawl/indexing, site architecture, rendering, structured data, Core Web Vitals, migrations, facets/pagination and international considerations.
  • Develop content SEO programs with briefs, internal linking recommendations, refresh/prune plans and E‑E‑A‑T guidance.
  • Support AEO visibility planning by recommending optimisations for AI‑driven discovery.

Required profile

  • Proven experience managing SEO accounts for large or priority clients.
  • Strong client‑facing skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Track record of translating business objectives into actionable SEO strategies.
  • Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and drive implementation.

  • Keyword research and market analysis.
  • Technical SEO audit techniques (crawl, indexing, site architecture, rendering, structured data, Core Web Vitals, migrations, facets/pagination, international SEO).
  • Content SEO program development (briefing, internal linking, content refresh, E‑E‑A‑T).
