Senior Technical VP - AI & Efficient Deep Learning

About the role

Huawei Canada is seeking a Senior Technical Vice President to lead AI and efficient deep‑learning initiatives within its Computing Data Application Acceleration Lab. The role focuses on shaping AI computing strategy, driving system‑level innovation, and delivering industry‑leading performance for inference and training workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze AI technology trends and define the core competitiveness roadmap for AI computing.
• Lead the design and implementation of system‑level innovations through hardware, software, and algorithm co‑design.
• Build the core technical framework for AI computing systems and drive industry‑leading AI solutions.
• Ensure product performance and commercial success for future AI inference and training applications.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, or related fields with strong mathematical foundation.
• Deep understanding of AI theory and proficiency with state‑of‑the‑art large‑scale models such as Llama and DeepSeek.
• Knowledge of AI chip architecture, interconnection technologies, and hardware/software co‑design.
• Experience optimizing efficiency of large models, including inference latency, throughput, and MFU improvement.
• More than 5 years of hands‑on experience in AI domains (CV, LLM, multimodal, reasoning, agents) and leading large‑scale inference/training projects.
• Publication record in top‑tier computer architecture, systems, or AI conferences is a plus.
