Senior Technical Animator

About the role

ICON Creative Studio is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to lead advanced character animation solutions on high‑profile CG projects for major streaming platforms. You will work closely with the lead animator to develop complex rigs, cloth simulations, and provide technical guidance across the animation pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Own the majority of shots on the team, fixing animation errors and ensuring visual quality.
• Develop and improve rigging systems compatible with advanced nCloth simulations.
• Hand‑animate hair and cloth when required, delivering realistic motion.
• Apply modeling techniques for topology fixes and UV mapping to optimise simulations.
• Collaborate with modelers to refine character meshes for better animation results.
• Support Arnold rendering workflow and contribute to final visual output.
• Use intermediate‑to‑advanced Python to troubleshoot pipeline errors and adjust parameters.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional animation experience handling complex technical tasks.
• Strong demo reel showcasing advanced animation and modeling capabilities.
• Proven expertise with Maya nDynamics, including varied nCloth setups.
• Solid knowledge of rig systems, topology, weight painting, and caching workflows.
• Experience importing/exporting animation using Studio Library, PAIE, or similar tools.
• Ability to work cross‑departmentally and take ownership of technical solutions.
