Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join a respected small‑to‑mid‑size CPA firm in Toronto. This full‑time, onsite role offers the chance to work directly with a diverse client base while collaborating with experienced partners and managers who are committed to your professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate, personal, trust, and partnership tax returns.
• Assist with tax planning and identify opportunities to minimize client tax liabilities.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Research and resolve complex tax issues, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
• Support CRA audits and respond to client tax inquiries.
• Mentor and review the work of junior staff members.
• Collaborate with partners and managers on various tax engagements and special projects.

Required profile

• 2+ years of public accounting tax experience in a Canadian CPA firm.
• Experience preparing and reviewing corporate and personal tax returns.
• Strong understanding of Canadian tax legislation.
• Progress toward or completion of the CPA designation is a strong asset.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple deadlines, especially during busy season.
