Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Halifax office. You will work in a collaborative team environment to solve challenging structural problems across building, industrial, utility, material handling and heavy civil projects. The role involves leading design, analysis and construction support for a variety of structural projects.

Key responsibilities

• Project management, including financial, resource, change order management and invoicing.
• Business development in the Atlantic provinces.
• Design calculations and analysis.
• Coordination of design support staff.
• Mentoring and technical support to junior staff.
• Preparation of technical specifications and construction documents.
• Construction contract administration.
• Site work such as meetings, field reviews and measurements.
• Client liaison and meetings.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) and a Master’s degree is a strong asset.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural design of buildings, industrial, utility, material handling, heavy civil, water tank or retaining structures.
• Professional Engineer registration in Canada with eligibility for registration in Atlantic provinces.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, hardworking team player.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within Atlantic Canada.
