Senior Specialist, Tax & Fund Reporting

About the role

Join Aviso’s Fund Reporting team as a Senior Specialist, Tax & Fund Reporting. You will lead the taxation strategy for a portfolio of mutual funds, ensuring compliance with new regulations and supporting key fund events.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fund distributions, T3 factors, tax returns, foreign tax returns, PFIC reporting, withholding tax reclaims, corporate actions, EIFEL and HST.
• Provide tax support for fund events such as mergers, rebalancings, and new fund launches.
• Analyze alternative tax strategies, optimize tax efficiency and present recommendations to senior executives.
• Monitor Canadian and international tax regulations and coordinate their implementation.
• Prepare tax disclosures for regulatory documents, including prospectuses and management information circulars.
• Assist the Fund Reporting team with financial statements, MRFPs and QPDs.

Required profile

• University degree or college diploma in a relevant field.
• Professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.
• Minimum five years of experience in tax reporting and advisory within mutual fund or asset‑management environments.
• Experience with a Big 4 firm is a plus.
• Strong analytical abilities, detail‑oriented and capable of solving complex problems.
