Senior Software Engineer – R&D Business Systems

About the role

Fivetran is merging with dbt Labs to build a unified data infrastructure platform. The Senior Software Engineer will join the Engineering Strategy and Operations group to accelerate internal R&D business systems, delivering real‑time operational insight for product and business leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of custom system solutions, tools, and dashboards that power R&D operations and streamline the feature development lifecycle.
• Build and maintain bidirectional integrations between core platforms such as Jira, Zendesk, Salesforce and other GTM and G&A systems.
• Create AI‑driven agents and internal tools that help managers quickly access data, draft requirements, and align with strategic OKRs.
• Develop production‑grade backend services and integration workflows in Python and TypeScript, defining API contracts and data models with a focus on reliability and security.
• Own observability, operational readiness, and production support for internal tools and data pipelines.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience solving complex system‑engineering problems and building reusable libraries.
• Proven ability to design and implement API‑based integrations (REST/GraphQL, webhooks) and to work cross‑functionally with global engineering, product, design, and analytics teams.
• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of translating technical details into business outcomes.
