Senior Software Engineer - Backend

About the role

Veeva Ostro is transforming how life‑sciences companies deliver innovations to patients. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will design and deliver scalable services that power our SaaS platform while balancing rapid delivery with long‑term code health.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and scale high‑performance APIs for Veeva Ostro’s SaaS platform.
• Partner cross‑functionally to design and ship new features.
• Provide technical feedback on product roadmaps and feature scoping.
• Champion quality through peer reviews, unit testing, and clean architecture.
• Optimize application and database performance to handle growth.
• Troubleshoot and resolve live system issues to maximize uptime.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production code for B2B or B2C SaaS products.
• 5+ years of deep expertise in Python and frameworks like Django.
• Strong proficiency with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional teamwork skills.
