Senior Software Engineer, Auto Labelling

About the role

Waabi is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of its offline perception and auto‑labelling platform. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of research scientists and engineers to build scalable, production‑grade systems that power autonomous trucks and robotaxis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an end‑to‑end auto‑labelling training, evaluation and automation ecosystem.
• Architect and scale data pipelines using distributed computing frameworks to handle large‑scale data and user requests.
• Collaborate with machine‑learning researchers and engineers to integrate new model architectures into production.
• Maintain and optimize the performance of ML workloads through profiling and system analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience developing machine‑learning systems or the ML software stack.
• Deep understanding of ML system architecture, performance analysis and profiling tools.
• Experience deploying deep‑learning models at scale, including large‑scale online inference.
• Proficiency in Python and a track record of writing production‑grade, well‑tested code.
• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support teammates.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Ray).
• ML system architecture and performance profiling.
• Productionisation of deep‑learning models and large‑scale inference.
• Handling of 3D sensor data such as LiDAR point clouds (nice to have).
• Experience with multi‑modal sensor fusion and vision‑language models (nice to have).
