About the role

Join profoundmedical’s R&D team in Mississauga to design and deliver high‑quality software that powers next‑generation medical devices. You will work in a regulated environment, leveraging AI tools responsibly while ensuring strict human oversight to meet safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Guide requirements analysis and define technical solutions that align with product and system needs.
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software architecture.
• Develop complex WPF modules and integrate them with existing enterprise applications.
• Utilize AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude) to boost productivity, with rigorous human review of all AI‑generated code and documentation.
• Create comprehensive unit tests and support integration and system verification.
• Maintain high‑quality design specifications, technical reports, and other documentation.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex software issues, providing guidance to the team.
• Optimize the Continuous Integration environment for efficient builds and testing.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level developers, lead workshops, and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise‑grade applications with complex business logic.
• Strong commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance in a medical‑device context.
