Senior School MYP Math and Science Teacher

About the role

St. John’s School is seeking an experienced IB Senior School MYP Math and Science Teacher to join its Senior School team. The teacher will deliver engaging mathematics and science lessons for Grades 6‑10, advise an advisory group, and may support additional MYP or DP courses as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Model and promote the IB learner profile and school values.
• Design and deliver inquiry‑based Math and Science lessons across multiple grades.
• Collaborate with the Head of Department and colleagues to develop an innovative curriculum.
• Provide differentiated instruction and create an inclusive learning environment.
• Assess, record, and report student progress in line with IB criteria and school policies.
• Participate in faculty, parent meetings, and co‑curricular activities.
• Maintain a safe, ethical, and organized classroom and adhere to risk‑management strategies.

Required profile

• Valid BC Teaching Certification (BCCT) and a Bachelor of Education degree.
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
• Knowledge of International Baccalaureate programmes, especially MYP.
• Experience teaching IB Science and/or BC Science courses is an asset.
