Senior RF Electrical Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior RF Electrical Developer to lead the design and integration of MRI‑compatible medical devices. You will ensure electronic systems operate reliably within the strong magnetic fields, rapidly switching gradients, and high‑power RF pulses of an MRI scanner, enabling safe and effective tissue ablation therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of MRI‑compatible electronic and RF subsystems, including signal paths, filtering, shielding, and grounding strategies.
• Develop systems immune to MRI RF pulses and gradient‑induced interference.
• Design and validate high‑powered ultrasound signal generation that functions within the MRI environment.
• Ensure RF safety compliance, mitigating induced currents, cable heating, and unintended coupling.
• Create filtered and shielded interconnects such as cable traps, baluns, and feedthroughs.
• Perform EMC/EMI analysis (64–300+ MHz) and implement mitigation techniques.
• Collaborate with mechanical teams on MR‑conditional design, material selection, cable routing, and enclosure design.
• Develop and execute MRI compatibility test methods, including phantom testing and in‑bore validation.
• Analyze and minimize image artifacts caused by device operation.
• Support MR safety classification (MR Safe / MR Conditional) per ASTM F2503.
• Troubleshoot complex interactions between the device and MRI system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in RF and electromagnetic design for medical or high‑field environments.

Required skills

• RF subsystem design for operation inside MRI scanners.
• EMC/EMI analysis and mitigation (64–300+ MHz).
• Design of shielding, grounding, and filtering solutions.
• Cable trap, balun, and feedthrough design.
