Senior Researcher – Computer Vision and Image Processing

About the role

Huawei Canada has an immediate 12‑month contract opening for a Senior Researcher in Computer Vision and Image Processing. The role is based in Montreal and will be part of the Noah’s Ark Laboratory, a research organization focused on advancing AI across multiple domains.

Key responsibilities

• Independently contribute to research and development efforts within computer vision and machine learning.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to integrate image/video processing solutions into broader real‑world applications.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
• Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through patent filings and publications.
• Stay abreast of the latest research and proactively identify opportunities for innovation.
• Independently manage projects and deliver high‑quality results within established timelines.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. is an asset) in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field with a focus on computer vision and machine learning.
• Deep understanding of computer vision and image processing algorithms and techniques such as diffusion models, image generation, image editing, and super‑resolution.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier AI conferences/journals (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI).
