About the role
Nestlé Canada is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Engineering (Electrical) to lead safe, compliant, and value‑creating capital projects that support manufacturing operations. The role spans from early feasibility studies through execution, commissioning and project close‑out, providing technical leadership and stakeholder alignment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead large, complex capital investment projects from feasibility through close‑out.
- Develop business cases, secure funding, and drive engineering design using Early Management/TPM methodology.
- Own scope, schedule, cost, risk and change management in line with Nestlé Capital Governance.
- Champion environmental, health and safety and ensure compliance with GMP, building codes and regulations.
- Provide technical oversight for electrical, automation, processing, packaging, utilities and infrastructure assets.
- Manage consultants, OEMs, contractors and suppliers, influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Mentor project engineers and junior managers while driving continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or related field; P.Eng or EIT preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience in regulated manufacturing (food, confectionery, pharma, etc.).
- Proven track record delivering brownfield capital projects in live manufacturing environments.
- Strong safety leadership and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional setting.
Required skills
- Electrical and controls system design (single‑line diagrams, PLC architectures, HMI, P&IDs).
- Factory Automation Systems (FAS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), motion control and industrial robotics.
- Utilities engineering (refrigeration, compressed air, boilers, natural gas).
- Proficiency with MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP (procurement & project transactions) and MS Office.
