Senior Program Assistant – Prince George Rural Immersion

About the role

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Senior Program Assistant to support the Prince George, Northern Rural, and Rural Immersion Family Practice Postgraduate Program. This temporary, fixed‑term position provides essential administrative and operational assistance to site leadership while facilitating resident training across multiple rural communities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate academic and clinical experiences for residents at Prince George Hospital and partner rural sites.
• Implement and maintain program procedures, processes, and documentation.
• Serve as a liaison between Site Directors, preceptors, community leads, and faculty.
• Assist with special events, occasional travel to northern rural communities, and out‑of‑hours support as needed.
• Develop and sustain relationships with health authorities, hospital departments, UBC units, and postgraduate offices.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of Faculty of Medicine policies and postgraduate program operations.
• Strong ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize program deliverables.
• Excellent communication and networking skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs and hybrid work schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
• Experience with program coordination or administrative support in a health‑education setting.
