Senior Mission & Operations Satellite Systems Engineer

About the role

As a member of the System Engineering Department, the Senior Mission and Operations Satellite Systems Engineer will lead analysis, planning and definition of constellation operations concepts of operations (ConOps). The role also covers preparation, testing and execution of operational procedures for satellite missions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct trade‑off studies and design the overall Satellite LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) plan.
• Develop and oversee in‑orbit operations procedures, manuals, test procedures and associated training.
• Create verification and validation matrices for commissioning, routine, and contingency operations.
• Support in‑orbit testing, anomaly resolution, and fault detection, isolation and recovery (FDIR).
• Participate in interface control document (ICD) development for hardware and software/database components.
• Maintain the DevOps environment, tool‑chain integration, and satellite simulator operation scripts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 10 years of practical experience with LEO/MEO satellite systems.
• Proven experience in mission design, analysis and automated satellite operations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English; French is a plus.

Required skills

• Python (or other scripting languages).
• MATLAB.
• AGI’s Systems Tool Kit (STK).
• Microsoft Excel for engineering analyses.
• Requirements‑management tools such as DOORS, Windchill or Jama.
• Knowledge of satellite database operations and telemetry structures.
