About the role
The Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations leads the Enterprise Data & AI Technology organization at Scotiabank, ensuring that data‑driven initiatives are executed efficiently and align with the bank’s strategic priorities. This role acts as a central hub, coordinating finance, procurement, technology, and risk teams to drive disciplined execution.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day financial operations, including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate across Finance, Procurement, Technology Operations, and Third‑Party Risk Management to maintain strong financial controls and streamline workflows.
- Review, rationalize, and optimize technology service and resource contracts in partnership with procurement, finance, and legal.
- Support Data & AI communication initiatives such as tech blogs, newsletters, and releases.
- Assist strategic planning cycles, leadership offsites, and transformation programs, documenting decisions and action items.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end invoice lifecycle and maintain an up‑to‑date invoice tracking repository.
- Provide accurate financial records, reconciliations, and tools for budgeting and forecasting.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and mid‑year planning, consolidating inputs from business and technology partners.
- Perform ad‑hoc financial analyses to support operational decision‑making and resource hiring forecasts.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Technology.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, finance, operations, contract management, and strategy within a technology‑driven environment.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and confident in managing complex cross‑functional initiatives.
