Senior Internal Auditor (Remote)

About the role

Wolseley Canada is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to lead both field and corporate audit engagements. The role is remote‑based but requires 25–40% travel across Canada and the United States, with a focus on delivering high‑quality audit work and actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and lead field audits across branch and distribution centre networks in Canada and support U.S. locations as needed.
• Draft comprehensive audit reports and facilitate audit close meetings with stakeholders.
• Participate in location selection and program planning activities for audit coverage.
• Conduct risk‑based operational, financial, and compliance audits for corporate business units.
• Identify control weaknesses, recommend improvements, and follow up on action plans.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure audit findings are documented and resolved.

Required profile

• Valid documentation permitting travel and work in the United States.
• Proven experience leading internal audit engagements in a large, distributed organization.
• Strong understanding of audit methodology, risk assessment, and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder interaction.
