Senior Geotechnical Engineer & Branch Manager

About the role

DS Consultants Ltd, a BluMetric company, is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer who will also lead its Ottawa branch. The role combines technical project delivery with overall office management and business development responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Ottawa office, including staff deployment and resource planning.
• Lead marketing efforts, client liaison, and business development to grow the branch’s portfolio.
• Recruit, hire, and mentor strategic staff, including intermediate and senior engineers.
• Prepare proposals, budgets, and manage project initiation in line with DS standards.
• Supervise project execution, ensuring health and safety compliance at all sites.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognized institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
• 8–10 years of experience in geotechnical, materials testing, and construction engineering.
• Proven leadership, team‑building, and business‑development experience.
• Valid G‑level Ontario driver’s licence and personal vehicle.
