Senior Financial Analyst, Properties

About the role

Choice Properties is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Properties to join its finance team in Toronto. The role will own the full accounting cycle for revenue‑generating properties, providing analysis and reporting that support strategic decision‑making across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse consolidated rent, expenses and recovery ratios for the region.
• Oversee set‑up and accuracy of straight‑line rent calculations.
• Prepare and present detailed analysis of major Net Operating Income (NOI) variances by region.
• Assist in the preparation of Statements of Adjustment (SOA) and related journal entries.
• Prepare tax financial statements and supporting working papers.
• Contribute to quarterly forecasts and the annual budgeting process.
• Liaise with Finance, Asset Management, Leasing and Tax departments to ensure responsive service.
• Review accuracy of mortgage interest expenses and support ad‑hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of real‑estate accounting and reporting experience, preferably in retail/commercial property.
• Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Business, Economics, Real Estate or a related field.
• CPA designation (CGA, CMA, CA) preferred.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and self‑starter attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
