Senior FDIR-FSW Systems Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior FDIR‑FSW Systems Engineer to lead the design, analysis and verification of Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery (FDIR) systems for advanced low‑Earth‑orbit (LEO) and medium‑Earth‑orbit (MEO) satellite programmes. The role works closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust fault‑management strategies and ensure the reliability of satellite flight software.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse FDIR strategies for satellite platforms and subsystems.
• Perform failure analysis using FMECA and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and evaluate failure propagation.
• Develop fault‑management concepts by tracing system‑level failures to unit‑level components.
• Support the design, verification, validation and testing of flight software (FSW) that implements FDIR functions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering groups to achieve system reliability and mission success.
• Contribute to system integration, testing and operational readiness activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of engineering experience, preferably in satellite flight‑software and systems engineering.
• Demonstrated experience with LEO and/or MEO satellite programmes.
• Strong background in systems‑level analysis, failure propagation and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Eligibility to obtain or hold Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance.
