Senior Fabric Architect (Hybrid/Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Fabric Architect to lead the design and implementation of Microsoft Fabric solutions for a government client in Edmonton. This 12‑month fixed‑term position supports a multi‑year modernization initiative and offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a robust Microsoft Fabric environment and reporting infrastructure.
• Design end‑to‑end data architectures and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and pixel‑perfect paginated reports.
• Enable self‑service reporting by training business users on Power BI and Fabric tools.
• Apply best‑practice standards for data governance, visualization, and performance optimization.
• Integrate data from Excel, SharePoint, and external platforms (HOME system, Partner Portal, Find Housing) into Fabric.
• Implement a Medallion Architecture using Fabric Lakehouses and Warehouses.
• Create semantic models and guide stakeholders on tool selection throughout the data lifecycle.
• Deliver advanced technical training and functional literacy sessions.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP‑700) and Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP‑600).
• 5+ years of expert‑level Power BI experience (DAX, Power Query, SSRS Report Builder).
• 3+ years in data modeling and architecture using Microsoft Fabric components.
• 3+ years designing certified datasets and data‑governance frameworks.
