About the role
Mastercard’s Global Export Controls & Sanctions Compliance team is seeking a Senior Analyst to support the Director in designing, executing, and enhancing the company’s worldwide export controls and economic sanctions program. The role provides day‑to‑day advisory support and acts as a subject‑matter resource for compliance matters across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Director in overseeing the global Export Controls & Sanctions Compliance Program, including policies, standards, procedures, and controls.
- Provide advisory support to business lines on U.S. and non‑U.S. export controls and sanctions regimes such as EAR, OFAC, and EU/UK sanctions.
- Review proposed products, services, and third‑party relationships for export‑control and sanctions risk.
- Serve as primary contact for routine inquiries and escalate complex or high‑risk matters.
- Conduct detailed analysis of potential export‑control or sanctions issues, including internal escalations and alerts.
- Support investigations of potential violations, gathering facts, reviewing documentation, and performing root‑cause analysis.
- Maintain records of issues, decisions, and outcomes to support audits and regulatory inquiries.
- Assist in designing, testing, and enhancing compliance controls, screening processes, and escalation workflows.
- Help draft and maintain export‑control and sanctions policies, procedures, and informational materials.
- Develop and deliver training materials for relevant stakeholders.
- Track regulatory developments, general licenses, and enforcement actions.
Required profile
- Senior‑level experience in export controls and sanctions compliance.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and non‑U.S. export control regulations (EAR, OFAC, EU/UK sanctions).
- Proven ability to advise business partners and support investigations.
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
