Senior Director of Events – National Produce Association

About the role

The Senior Director, Events will lead CPMA’s national events portfolio, including the flagship Annual Convention and Trade Show, board meetings, member engagement initiatives and corporate gatherings. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Events, this senior position shapes multi‑year event strategy, drives revenue growth and enhances member value across Canada’s fresh produce sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑year events strategy aligned with CPMA’s brand and business objectives.
• Oversee planning, budgeting and delivery of large‑scale conferences, trade shows and stakeholder‑focused events.
• Recruit, engage and manage volunteers critical to the success of the Annual Convention and Trade Show.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event experiences.
• Monitor event performance metrics and adjust tactics to meet revenue and engagement targets.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience delivering large conferences and trade shows.
• Strong financial and operational acumen with a track record of revenue generation.
• Excellent relationship‑building and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Leadership experience managing high‑performing teams in fast‑paced environments.
• Effective communicator who can influence across the organization.
