Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Chromatic is looking for a senior‑level DevOps engineer to secure, stabilize, and architect the future of its cloud infrastructure. You will work remotely with cross‑functional product and engineering teams to keep millions of browser sessions running reliably on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve our security posture—from access controls and secrets management to vulnerability triage and audit logging.
• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure in AWS using Terraform that supports millions of daily browser sessions.
• Embed with product and engineering teams to assess infrastructure needs, conduct security reviews, and ensure security is built into developer tooling and CI/CD workflows.
• Participate in the engineering team’s on‑call rotation, responding to incidents and owning mitigation through to resolution.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience deploying and operating containerized applications in AWS.
• 5+ years of experience using Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
• Intermediate knowledge of networking fundamentals (firewalls, load balancers, DNS, VPC architecture, zero‑trust access) and cloud security standards.
• Demonstrable experience with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, GitHub Actions), Docker, and orchestration tools.
