Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Join Pattison Food Group Ltd. as a Senior DevOps Engineer in Langley, BC. You will provide technical leadership, shape the DevOps Center of Excellence, and drive automation and modern tooling across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead DevOps initiatives, defining architecture, standards, patterns, and tooling decisions.
• Establish and evolve the DevOps Center of Excellence, creating reusable frameworks and shared services.
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Develop configuration management and automation with Ansible.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform in collaboration with cloud and infrastructure teams.
• Optimize Azure cloud environments for cost efficiency, resilience, autoscaling, and resource utilization.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions with Nagios and Splunk.
• Mentor and support developers, administrators, and cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate with development, cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to improve productivity and delivery processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, observability, and platform engineering.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of system administration experience.
• 3+ years managing Azure cloud services.
• Proficiency with Linux, Windows, Bash, PowerShell, and Java.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands‑on experience with DevOps tools including GitHub Actions, Ansible, and Terraform.
