Senior Cost Controller

About the role

Progesys, a recognized project management firm specializing in industrial projects, is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to join its Laval office. The role will support the transition from construction to operations across large‑scale EPCM projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update project budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Prepare performance reports including EAC, ETC, EVMS indicators and cost‑schedule variances in collaboration with the planning team.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Consolidate and validate financial data from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy of payments, commitments, invoices and purchase orders.
• Track scope changes, analyse financial impacts and integrate approved changes into the budget.
• Act as liaison between accounting, engineering and project management teams and apply client project control policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Civil Engineering.
• 10 years of cost‑control experience in an EPCM environment, preferably in mining or natural‑resources projects.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and willingness to travel to sites occasionally.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (mandatory).
• Familiarity with PRISM G2 (asset).
• Knowledge of Primavera (asset).
• Knowledge of SAP (asset).
