Senior Claims Manager, Casualty Claims

About the role

Zurich Canada is seeking a Senior Claims Manager to lead a team of Claims Professionals in delivering high‑quality casualty claims service. Reporting to the VP of Mainstream Claims, you will oversee work activities across locations, drive operational efficiency, and support employee development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and direct administrative activities, develop and monitor policies, procedures and best practices.
• Assess, evaluate and improve workflows, processes, systems and data quality.
• Coordinate and champion changes in strategy and culture across functional areas.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with business partners to improve customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Allocate resources to meet customer needs and manage expenditures.
• Implement talent management practices, including goal setting, performance measurement, mentoring and training.
• Identify external risks and recommend departmental improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of claims experience, or high school diploma with 8+ years of claims experience.
• Minimum 2 years of management experience.
• Strong data research and analysis abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Spreadsheet and database analysis skills.
• Data research and analytical capabilities.
