Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript) – Remote Canada

About the role

Palmstreet is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join the team. In this role you will lead key architectural decisions, work on core user experiences such as instant bidding and live interactions, build scalable systems for millions of users, innovate live‑streaming and checkout features, and keep the deployment pipeline reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust backend services and APIs for web and mobile using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable products.
• Own specific components or systems with end‑to‑end expertise.
• Deliver large‑scope projects while maintaining high productivity.

Required profile

• BS (or higher) in Computer Science.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin.
• 5+ years of experience building highly scalable and reliable infrastructure.
• Payment system experience preferred.
• Kubernetes experience preferred.
