Senior Backend Developer (Remote, US Eastern/Central)

About the role

Sangoma is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑availability cloud services that power its UCaaS product suite. This fully remote position serves customers across North America and requires a strong focus on security, reliability, and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, distributed APIs and backend services that integrate with multiple third‑party solutions.
• Maintain and improve the Sangoma Meet Cloud platform to meet SLA targets and 24/7 reliability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and cross‑functional teams to deliver seamless API integrations.
• Troubleshoot production issues, ensuring high availability and an excellent user experience.
• Participate in architectural discussions and help shape the technology roadmap.
• Mentor junior developers and promote a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and quick learning of new technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
