Senior Android Developer – Toronto

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our downtown Toronto team. The role focuses on building high‑quality native Android applications while collaborating in an agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions to complex problems using appropriate frameworks and design patterns.
• Gather and analyse requirements, propose optimal technical approaches.
• Write, test and maintain code with attention to performance, security and accessibility.
• Participate in scrum ceremonies and follow Agile best practices.
• Conduct peer code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Perform impact analysis for system changes and provide guidance to product owners.
• Stay current with Android platform updates and share recommendations.
• Mentor junior developers on Android best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of native Android development experience and at least 3 years of Java programming.
• Strong grasp of object‑oriented concepts, Android architecture and software design patterns.
• Experience with RESTful services, automated testing (JUnit, Robolectric, Espresso) and Agile methodologies.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
