Senior Accountant – Food Manufacturing

About the role

Trophy Foods Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Mississauga. You will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements for a leading snack manufacturer.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all general ledger transactions and maintain chart of accounts.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end close processes, including financial reporting.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and standard monthly journal entries.
• Identify, record, value, and capitalize capital projects.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts such as prepaid, tax, and other liabilities.
• Maintain supporting documentation for all financial activities.
• Handle foreign‑exchange (FX) bookings, update rates in JD Edwards, and post monthly FX entries.
• Review Canadian and U.S. sales‑tax requirements to ensure compliance.
• Support audit preparation and manage the audit PBC list.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience with full‑cycle month‑end close.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with foreign‑exchange accounting and sales‑tax compliance.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and support audit processes.

• Sales‑tax compliance (Canada & United States).
