Second Cook – Mountain Lodge Kitchen

About the role

Join the culinary team at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, an Autograph by Marriott resort nestled in the Canadian Rockies. As a Second Cook you will support the kitchen’s daily operations, preparing and serving high‑quality dishes for both à la carte and banquet service while gaining exposure to a vibrant hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food across multiple kitchen sections, including à la carte and banquet lines.
• Operate an individual station under the supervision of First Cooks and the CDP.
• Follow menu specifications and control food waste in your section.
• Maintain strict food safety and personal hygiene standards.
• Report maintenance issues, accidents, and unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Support a professional appearance and uphold company assets.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of commercial cooking experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and lift up to 50 lb throughout the shift.
• Physical stamina for high‑volume, time‑sensitive service periods.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required skills

• Food preparation and plating.
• Knife work, chopping, whisking, sautéing.
• Menu execution and portion control.
• Food safety compliance.
