About the role

The Seasonal Retail Clerk supports daily operations at the MCC Thrift shop in Leamington, providing friendly customer service, handling cash transactions, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. The role is part‑time, contract‑based, and requires flexibility for weekday, evening, and Saturday shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for shoppers, donors, and volunteers.
• Operate point‑of‑sale systems, process purchases, refunds, and manage cash handling, float preparation, and daily reconciliation.
• Maintain organized merchandise displays, replenish floor stock, and assist with seasonal merchandising.
• Provide hands‑on support and guidance to volunteers, fostering a positive team environment.
• Ensure the shop is clean, safe, and complies with MCC health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals.
• Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced retail setting.
• Effective verbal communication in English and basic written communication.
• Physical ability to lift, stand, bend, and reach as needed.
