Seasonal Operator – Road and Highway Work

About the role

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is hiring seasonal operators to support road and highway projects across Manitoba. You will work as part of a crew, operating equipment and ensuring safe work sites in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate trucks, machines, and tools required for road construction and maintenance.
• Set up and dismantle work sites, including traffic control devices.
• Direct traffic around work zones to maintain safety.
• Load and apply materials such as paint and asphalt.
• Assist with asphalt plant operations and material handling.
• Inspect, maintain, and report on equipment condition.
• Follow all safety rules and supervisor instructions.

Required profile

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
• Strong attention to safety and procedural compliance.
• Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and equipment operation.
