Scraper Operator – Heavy Construction

About the role

Sureway Construction is seeking a reliable Scraper Operator to join its heavy‑construction team in the Edmonton area. The position is full‑time and seasonal, offering the chance to work on civil earthworks, grading and aggregate extraction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a scraper (push‑pull and auger) to shape and contour the site, following grade stakes or hand signals.
• Control blade and bowl height, adjust gear, and manage speed to match working conditions.
• Use the cushion hitch correctly while operating the scraper.
• Interpret grades, roadway plans and drawings to achieve specified terrain elevations.
• Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program on‑site.

Required profile

• Minimum one (1) year of experience operating a scraper (push‑pull & auger).
• Reliable personal vehicle and CSA‑approved steel‑toed boots with 6‑inch ankle support.
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and flexible schedule.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing and company orientations.
